Scientific Medical Library

Our University has a modern and well-tocked Scientific Medical Library that offers support for the educational and scientific processes and provides a range of information services for beneficiaries. The Library offers access to more than 900 000 publications (in Romanian, English, Russian, French, and other languages) in the lecture halls and for home loans (textbooks and scientific publications). The Library provides online access to the programs: HINARI, OARE, ARDI, and various medical databases like Scopus, Cochrane Library, Cambridge Journal Online, STAT! Ref, Oncology and STAT, etc. and offline access to a representative collection of CDs and DVDs.

Open 7 days a week, the University Library has 5 reading rooms and 4 information centers equipped with computers and Internet connections, located in different regions of the city (near the campus and hospitals).

University Center for Simulation in Medical Training

The University Center for Simulation in Medical Training (UCSMT) of Nicolae Testemitanu SUMPh is one of the most advanced centers in Eastern Europe, according to the proposed range of services in the field of medical training and sophisticated scientific and training equipment. Its mission is to improve the safety of medical process and that of the patient by application of modern teaching methods and medical practices based on simulation. Here are provided courses for students and medical specialists at all levels of continuing training, where you can get: communication skills with patients, basic practical medical and surgical skills, advanced individual dexterity, ability to communicate work in a team, leadership abilities, knowledge of resource and crisis management.

In the UCSMT training is provided on the basis of curricula programs and extra-curricular courses organized in several modules:

Accommodation

Chisinau is one of the cheapest cities in Europe, according to a survey conducted by ECA International. Usually, students need an amount of about EUR 500 per month in order to pay their apartment, food, transport, leisure and other. There is a possibility to save some money by choosing to stay in the university hostels, located nearby the hospitals where the university departments (chairs) are placed. The infrastructure includes security, and social and community assistance. For students’ convenience, there are separate hostels for ladies and gentlemen. Also, the meals at the university cafeteria are cheaper than in the city restaurants and cafes. On the student’s campus, there are several canteens, which provide local food, Indian food, etc.

On arrival at the University, students are permanently assisted in all formalities connected with their stay in our country, in order to get used to the new conditions of life and study.
